About NLP & NLP Training

What does NLP stand for?

NLP stands for Neuro (meaning of the mind and central nervous system), Linguistic (words & meaning), Programming (how we process things to get results). So NLP is about how we experience and make sense of events/the world, and the strategies we can use to do that better.  NLP is outcome focused and equips you with mindset, communication & relationship building skills you can use to be more successful, clear and confident in attaining your goals.

Who is NLP for?

NLP is useful for anyone who needs to connect with, influence or lead others.  If you’re looking for professional development with a bit of a kick and pizzaz, something innovative & empowering, read on!

It is ideal for anyone in a management, coaching or healing oriented role; from teachers to parents, client managers/sales people,  trainers to counsellors, business owners to HR professionals and life coaches or consultants.

It also provides the opportunity for empowering self-growth and development, offering the chance to learn how to work through trauma, address limiting beliefs, unpack and release negative emotions & triggers, build confidence in oneself and enjoy the resourcefulness we all have, but often can’t access.

People do this training for different reasons – both personal & professional, and participants tend to find that the change you create will filter across all aspects of your life, creating ripple effects and wins for you and for those around you too.

How can NLP help me in my mahi/job?

Whether you’re seeking tools to resolve conflict, build stronger relationships, achieve personal goals, reprogram unwanted triggers/stressors, or boost workplace wellbeing, you’ll discover empowering, evidence-backed, innovative & outside-the-box tools, ideas and techniques in our NLP-based training programs designed specifically to help you succeed.

The many & varied skills, tools and concepts you’ll master are well-tested, efficient and empowering; and it is NOT just more of the same old stuff you’ve heard before that doesn’t work. Expect to feel engaged and inspired by the change you create within you, and by your ability to help others change too. Our clients consistently talk of the positive ripple effects to those them from this training too.

Are your NLP Programs internationally recognised/accredited?

Yes, unlike many other NLP programs you can get online or elsewhere, our NLP Practitioner & Master Practitioner programs are accredited with the IANLP, and Jaki is an IANLP accredited trainer, so your training experience & certification, meets the highest possible standards & will be recognised around the world.

How am I meant to find that much time off work?

Most Practitioner trainings are 18 days long, and generally run online in two long blocks of 9-10 days, with just a few days in between. Its an intensive approach and it gives you little time to practice what you’re learning, and it can be hard to have that much time away. Instead, we run our programs in shorter blocks each month, so you can practice and apply as you learn. We also run each monthly block over a weekend reducing the time away from work. Dates for both Practitioner and Master Practitioner programs are already available so you can start planning early.

Do you offer payment plans if needed?

Yes, we offer interest-free payment plans and we can agree a suitable payment schedule to make this doable for you. Contact us today to find out more. Follow us on FB or join our newsletter to be in the loop on upcoming trainings including early bird specials too.

Is there any sort of funding available for your NLP Practitioner training?

Yes, our NLP Practitioner training (certification) is eligible for 50% funding for those businesses who meet the MBIE scheme criteria. Contact us today to see if this might apply for you.

It seems like a significant investment in time and money, how can I know its worth it?

Of course, the way you’ll ultimately know is once you’ve done the training and you are enjoying the benefits which affect not only in your professional life, but you personally/at home too. See our wall of love for past client’s testimonials.

We’re so confident you’ll love the NLP Practitioner Training, that we offer a money-back satisfaction guarantee*. Contact us to find out details and we can answer any other questions or concerns you may have at the same time too!

Past clients have consistently told us that while they initially were concerned about that much time off and away from their whanau, they universally had resolved that by the end of the program! And not only that, but that their partners got on board by the end too because they could see the change in the participant.

Contact us if you’d like to talk to past graduates of our NLP Practitioner programs to hear their experience in their own words directly, to aid you in deciding if this is right for you.

What do critics of NLP say & how would you respond?

I’ve been in the field of NLP for about 15 years+ and in that time I’ve used it with many many hundreds of people and heard stories from other practitioners and master practitioners too.

I’ve come across people who are suspicious of NLP because they’ve heard about the remarkable results – results which may sound unbelievably good to some. On the other end of the spectrum you sometimes (less often) hear people doubt the field because they’ve heard of someone who ‘tried NLP’ and ‘it didn’t work’ for them.

To this, I’d say ‘yes results can seem incredible – if you’ve tried something and failed many times, trying something new & suddenly getting a positive result can be hard to fathom and easy to second-guess – perhaps even undo. I would further say stop thinking of it as ‘NLP working’ and consider that all NLP is really, is understanding how YOU work, and actually working in alignment with that to resolve a particular problem and achieve a specific outcome. When you do this, yes incredible, previously unachievable results can follow.

And, if you hear of someone who ‘used NLP’ and was dissatisfied, it’s worthwhile to check – how specifically did they use the skill or technique they chose? How well did they understand their problem and goal? Who guided them in resolving it and what qualifications did they have? We run our programs to IANLP standards. That means our training is run to the highest possible international standards and focuses on helping you understanding not just the what and why but the how and the ‘what if’ as well.

In addition, we build in extra practice and unprecedented support to help you achieve success using your new NLP tools & knowledge and our wall of love for past client’s testimonials shows the joy, empowerment and satisfaction that this results in, again and again.

Finally I’d say, I neither want to nor can speak for all NLP Practitioners or NLP training – but I can tell you that we’re so confident you’ll love the NLP Practitioner Training certification we offer at Creating Change Ltd, that we offer a money-back satisfaction guarantee*. Contact us to find out details and we can answer any other questions or concerns you may have at the same time too!

What do you offer in terms of staff training/professional development solutions?

Designing custom team/staff training solutions is both our passion and our bread and butter. We’ve done plenty of it and we have a simple, pain-free process to ensure you get the best return on investment.

Our range of programs includes leadership, positive and authentic communication, time management, courageous conversations and conflict management, assertiveness, managing performance and more.

We tailor our solutions to the challenges your people face to ensure the programs are well received and to help your team bring their new skills, focus and learning into practice, so you all enjoy not just the experience, but the results too.

Book in a scoping call and let’s talk about the results or change you want to see, because creating change is what we are all about!

In 2025, for the first time in over 10 years we’re also rolling out a comprehensive public training program too, so don’t be shy, have a look and call us to share your team’s needs, there are many ways we may be able to help!

I've heard you offer team wellbeing solutions; what does that involve?

We do. These solutions are tailored around your organisation’s unique needs and goals. The process starts with a scoping meeting that you can book here. From that hui we develop a full proposal that outlines a way forward with options which may include: Policy or HR process development to create a best-practice approach to building a positive team environment, bespoke staff training, leadership & communication sessions, coaching with key staff and professional supervision or onsite EAP style sessions.

Do you offer EAP services?

My Masters thesis was on the efficacy of EAP services so this is something I’ve been passionate about for a long time.  We know that EAP services can be expensive and staff may resist using them due to stigma. As such, we offer two approaches to avoid these problems.

1) We offer an onsite ‘coaching & check-in’ style EAP support, where I come by your offices each week for 2-8 hours per week at a set time (how long I’m onsite is agreed  based on the number of staff and any other HR or development initiatives I can be usefully assisting you with). Staff can talk to me about anything thats on their mind, drop in for a refresher on communication or leadership related matters, or more trauma/crises related issues. Staff can also be scheduled to see me on a quarterly basis or the like and because I’m there onsite regularly and because of the broad nature of issues/skills I help people with, stigma is avoided and the EAP gets used,  so everyone wins.

2) I also offer Professional Supervision that can be extended to multiple sessions if a staff member requires it, using a standard EAP reporting/confidentiality approach.

Do you offer Employment Dispute services?

We are a great neutral party service to work through discussions and help each party be heard and work towards finding common ground. This may include problem-identification, problem- solving and HR policy, job description or performance management process review or development, as part of fixing the issue at multiple levels and future-proofing your organisation from further issues or disputes.

We can also teach your HR specialist, practice manager or key staff skills for conflict resolution.

If your situation has got to grievance territory I can also recommend some excellent specialists in this area to guide you through that journey. Let’s talk and go from there!

What is the process to engage your services for a team development initiative?

Give us a call or book a quick chat to clarify broadly what your need is, and what you’d like to change going forward. From here we generally arrange a scoping call which takes approximately 1 hour to thoroughly review what’s not working, what you’ve tried, and any constraints, so that we can design a solution with options that work.

Development solutions generally include coaching and/or training with relevant team members to address the immediate need, as well as suggested HR or additional development initiatives to minimise the risk of similar or related problems going forward.

From this proposal you decide what is right from you, so you’re in charge and we partner with you to create the change you want; and that’s when our mahi together begins in earnest!
